NOTICE OF RACE
HALIFAX AREA MODEL YACHT CLUB
2025 CAN-CAN Regatta
September 5 to 7 2025
Authority: This regatta is organized under the authority of the Canadian Radio Yachting Association (CRYA)and conducted by the Halifax Area Model Yacht Club (HAMYC) and its duly appointed Race
Committee. The regatta will be sailed on Sullivan’s Pond, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Objective: To promote a fun, friendly, yet competitive, regatta – in the true Corinthian spirit.
Rules: This regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (The RRS) as
modified by Appendix E, the Prescriptions of Sail Canada, the Equipment Rules of Sailing and the
Soling 1m Class Rules.
Eligibility: Registration will be accepted up to a maximum of 25 skippers on a first come first served basis,
based on the date registration is received. Entries should be received by August 15th, 2025. Late entries will be considered contact Jim Goddard at jwgoddard@gmail.com
Entrants must be current members of the CRYA, or their National Authority. Yachts must comply
with the current Soling 1m Class Rules.
Race Format: A heat-managed odd/even system will be used if the numbers of competitors warrants.

Measurement: Boats may be measured for class rules compliance at the regatta site before the start of the first race. Any measurement specified by the class rules may be checked by the Race Committee
prior to, during, and up to 30 minutes after the last race of the regatta. There is no maximum
number of races, however a minimum of 6 races must be completed to constitute this event.
Entry and Fees: Skippers may enter the regatta by completing the entry form online or by completing the
entry form below and emailing it to halifaxareamodelyachtclub@gmail.com along with
an e-transfer of the entry fee The entry fee is $75 and includes entrants lunch on both
days, Saturday dinner and admission to the Friday Evening Social. Additional lunch
tickets for those accompanying entrants will be $10, and dinner on Saturday $25.
